Vedanta Center of Greater Austin

13508 Broadmeade Ave, Austin, TX 78729

Subject: Donation Appeal for purchase of adjacent house

Your Center has on-going activities that have attracted devotees in greater numbers since its opening by Late Swami Swahananda who passed away within a week of opening the Center. The devotees’ attendance during weekly study circles and special retreats conducted by monks is increasing in numbers. Their active participation in the spiritual uplifting activities is also increasing continuously.

The center now conducts the following activities.

  1. Study Circle on (a) Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna (b) Works of Swami Vivekananda (c) Bhagavat Gita (d) Gospel of Holy Mother.
  2. Video programs involving Lectures by monks of the Ramakrishna Order.

  3. Enhanced participation of devotees during monk’s visit.

  4. Reading of Books on Sri Ramakrishna’s direct disciples.

  5. Bhajan singing and chanting.

Now we are faced with lack of space and need to increase (i) the meeting area in the shrine (ii) the expansion of library and (iii) meeting rooms to conduct the administration of the center.  We now have an opportunity to purchase the property next to our center. We have formed a committee working on the acquisition of this house. The price of the property is estimated at $240K.

Typical of any charitable organization, we are faced with lack of funds to buy this property. Hence, we request you all for generous donations and pledges to fund the purchase of the adjacent property.  For simplicity and ease of your donations, we have the “Contribute” page on our web site www.austinvedanta.org  that accepts credit cards through our secure PayPal account. You can also send a check payable to the Vedanta Center of Greater Austin. We can also accept pledges in the form of monthly or quarterly donations. All your donations are tax deductible.

May Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi and Swami Vivekananda bless you and your family.

Sincerely,

Board of Trustees
